All corn is natural. DAC medication, Comed vitamins and supplements are used. The lofts are controlled with automatic roller blinds for the young bird darkness system and heating is thermostatically controlled for temperature and humidity, all installed by Autoloft from Dublin, Ireland.
Racing is done at Richard's home address, with 12 cocks on pure widowhood and 28 hens on a jealousy-type system. A team of 60 young birds have been bred for 2015.
The beginning of the 2015 season saw the new partnership get off to a flying start, topping the Federation six times in seven weeks, and also in the first National race of the season with the Midlands National Flying Club from Carentan they won 1st and 2nd Section 4th Open with 8880 birds and 1st in the 2-bird Nom race with the MNFC.
Dean Pallatt a living legend with his Staf van Reets, won all there was to win in the late 1980s and 1990s, now has a successful pigeon stud in Lutterworth. Dean was the main owner of Stafs Belgian champions like Daniel: 57 x 1st, Dikke Prinz: 26 x 1st, Prinz: 32 x 1st, Donkere Witpen Daniel: 17 x 1st, Bliksem: 18 x 1st, The Goode 53: 9 x 1st, Den Don: 10 x 1st and Favorie: 8 x 1st and 37 x top 10. Their progeny have gone on to dominate the sport worldwide. Dean also has Michel van Lint's birds, which include all Michel's National winners, and these have also won from the word Go all over the UK, right up to National level. Dean's latest acquisitions are the Marc Capelle pigeons. Marc is a national sensation at home, winning all National sprint titles there are to win in Belgium. Dean has all his national ace sprint pigeons at his Lutterworth stud.
Both men have won all there is to win in their own right. Richard Turner, now of Worksop, has had a fairytale start since 2005, amassing over 250 x 1st prizes at National, Classic, Open, Federation and Club level. He has been the highest prize winner in the Fed for the last four years, also winning National RPRA awards, Regional RPRA awards and has had birds represent Great Britain and the Olympiad.
